The kind where you wake up inside a tornado of birthday party aftermath and wonder if you\u2019ll ever find your countertops again.<\/p>\n\n <p>The good news? Josh and I tackled the house together. In just over an hour, we went from chaos to calm \u2014 and somehow, that hour felt less like a chore and more like an investment. Not just in the house\u2026 but in me.<\/p>\n\n <p>What\u2019s wild is that I never put \u201cclean house\u201d on my official 40-day challenge checklist. There\u2019s no daily checkbox for vacuuming or counter wiping. And yet\u2026 here we are. Thirty-three days in, and somehow tidiness has become a non-negotiable part of the rhythm.<\/p>\n\n <p>Maybe it\u2019s because my brain runs quieter in a clean space. Maybe it\u2019s because I know I\u2019ll be filming content and don\u2019t want rogue sock piles showing up on camera. Or maybe \u2014 just maybe \u2014 it\u2019s because I\u2019ve started living like the version of me I\u2019ve been trying to become. And Future Jenli? She has clean floors.<\/p>\n\n <div class=\"emphasis\">\n <p><strong>Today, we leveled up.<\/strong><br>\n We went to Sam\u2019s Club and bought a Dyson.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n\n <p>Let me be clear: we were <em>genuinely excited<\/em> about a vacuum. I even told Josh on the way out the door, \u201cI feel very suburban mom right now.\u201d He didn\u2019t skip a beat:<br>\n \u201cYou <em>are<\/em> a suburban mom.\u201d<br>\n Touch\u00e9.<br>\n Today I unlocked the final boss of suburbia: genuine excitement over a vacuum.<\/p>\n\n <p>I wore a casual but elevated outfit, the kind of thing you throw on without much thought but still feel put-together in. We were just running errands, but something about it felt like a <em>moment<\/em>. Like some invisible version of me I hadn\u2019t quite embraced yet was gently stepping into frame.<\/p>\n\n <p>And then we got home\u2026 and vacuumed.<br>\n The Amazon stick vac didn\u2019t stand a chance. The Dyson pulled up things I <em>wish<\/em> I didn\u2019t know were lurking in our carpet. No wonder my allergies have been awful. The Dyson sucked up enough mystery fuzz to make our Amazon stick vac file for early retirement.<\/p>\n\n <div class=\"pullquote\">Sometimes, the transformation sneaks in through the side door \u2014 wearing leggings, holding a Dyson, and whispering, \u201cYou\u2019ve already arrived.\u201d<\/div>\n\n <p>But more than dust or dander, what got swept up today was a version of me I didn\u2019t expect to meet.<\/p>\n\n <p>Back on <strong>Day 1<\/strong>, I said something like, \u201cWhen I grow up I\u2019ll\u2026\u201d and paused, realizing that maybe at almost 40, it was time to stop talking like my life hadn\u2019t started yet.<\/p>\n\n <p>Today, standing in my kitchen holding a vacuum I was <em>thrilled<\/em> to own\u2026 I realized I\u2019m not waiting to grow up anymore.<\/p>\n\n <p class=\"reflect\"><strong>This is it.<\/strong><br>\n This is me, living the version of adulthood I used to think only existed in some future version of myself. Not the kind of adulthood that feels like settling \u2014 but the kind that feels strangely empowering. Intentional. Tidy. The kind where you wake up inside a tornado of birthday party aftermath and wonder if you\u2019ll ever find your countertops again.<\/p>\n\n <p>The good news? Josh and I tackled the house together. In just over an hour, we went from chaos to calm \u2014 and somehow, that hour felt less like a chore and more like an investment. Not just in the house\u2026 but in me.<\/p>\n\n <p>What\u2019s wild is that I never put \u201cclean house\u201d on my official 40-day challenge checklist. There\u2019s no daily checkbox for vacuuming or counter wiping. And yet\u2026 here we are. Thirty-three days in, and somehow tidiness has become a non-negotiable part of the rhythm.<\/p>\n\n <p>Maybe it\u2019s because my brain runs quieter in a clean space. Maybe it\u2019s because I know I\u2019ll be filming content and don\u2019t want rogue sock piles showing up on camera. Or maybe \u2014 just maybe \u2014 it\u2019s because I\u2019ve started living like the version of me I\u2019ve been trying to become. And Future Jenli? She has clean floors.<\/p>\n\n <div class=\"emphasis\">\n <p><strong>Today, we leveled up.<\/strong><br>\n We went to Sam\u2019s Club and bought a Dyson.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n\n <p>Let me be clear: we were <em>genuinely excited<\/em> about a vacuum. I even told Josh on the way out the door, \u201cI feel very suburban mom right now.\u201d He didn\u2019t skip a beat:<br>\n \u201cYou <em>are<\/em> a suburban mom.\u201d<br>\n Touch\u00e9.<br>\n Today I unlocked the final boss of suburbia: genuine excitement over a vacuum.<\/p>\n\n <p>I wore a casual but elevated outfit, the kind of thing you throw on without much thought but still feel put-together in. We were just running errands, but something about it felt like a <em>moment<\/em>. Like some invisible version of me I hadn\u2019t quite embraced yet was gently stepping into frame.<\/p>\n\n <p>And then we got home\u2026 and vacuumed.<br>\n The Amazon stick vac didn\u2019t stand a chance. The Dyson pulled up things I <em>wish<\/em> I didn\u2019t know were lurking in our carpet. No wonder my allergies have been awful. The Dyson sucked up enough mystery fuzz to make our Amazon stick vac file for early retirement.<\/p>\n\n <div class=\"pullquote\">Sometimes, the transformation sneaks in through the side door \u2014 wearing leggings, holding a Dyson, and whispering, \u201cYou\u2019ve already arrived.\u201d<\/div>\n\n <p>But more than dust or dander, what got swept up today was a version of me I didn\u2019t expect to meet.<\/p>\n\n <p>Back on <strong>Day 1<\/strong>, I said something like, \u201cWhen I grow up I\u2019ll\u2026\u201d and paused, realizing that maybe at almost 40, it was time to stop talking like my life hadn\u2019t started yet.<\/p>\n\n <p>Today, standing in my kitchen holding a vacuum I was <em>thrilled<\/em> to own\u2026 I realized I\u2019m not waiting to grow up anymore.<\/p>\n\n <p class=\"reflect\"><strong>This is it.<\/strong><br>\n This is me, living the version of adulthood I used to think only existed in some future version of myself. Not the kind of adulthood that feels like settling \u2014 but the kind that feels strangely empowering. Intentional. Tidy.
